Insulated Dog House

An insulated dog house keeps your pet warm during cold days and nights.

If you are a pet lover and you own a dog, it is expected that you would want to provide your beloved pet with a proper living area. Many dog breeds, especially the big ones can live outside your house as long as they are kept in an insulated dog house with the right size. The dimensions should fit the size of your dog, and this is important if your pet is to maintain warmth in its home by using its own body heat. In cold temperatures, the dogs with heavy coats will be able to cope up easily than the dogs with short coats.

The outside of the dog house, most especially the roof, should be painted black and should be lead-free. Black houses stay warmer than those painted white. However, if you live in a place with a warm climate, paint the doghouse white, which is cooler. It is also advisable to move the location of the doghouse from season to season so that you would be able to control the weather effects such as the sun, shade, or wind.

Put bedding material in the dog’s sleep area. Change the bedding every one to two weeks and keep the doghouse clean. During winter, a burlap or canvas can be installed outside the door to provide protection.
